Webinar Recording: Sell-Siders Comply! Adopting the ePrivacy Directive Now
Thanks to everyone who attended our webinar last Thursday. The turnout was huge and our panelists made some great points, explaining the complexities of the the EU Cookie Law as the 25 May deadline approaches. Zuzanna Gierlinska, Global Agency Director for Microsoft Advertising, exemplified how key players in the EU are preparing for the ePrivacy deadline: "We are trying to be as proactive as possible and have as broad of a range of capability for compliance as possible." The IAB's director of Regulatory Affairs, Nick Stringer, spoke to the value of getting involved with the self-regulatory program, which predates the directive. Starcom MediaVest's Jonathan Harris explained the nuances of privacy education for agencies: "It's rare that we speak to vendors and don't raise the issue of ePrivacy." Also, Daniel de Sybel, who helped Infectious Media become an early adopter of the self-regulatory program, provided a great model for the successful implementation of privacy controls, reinforcing the notion that "education is key."
